i want

i want peace

the unrelenting

slap of the wind

that shears off tears

whipping fragrances along

and unfurling

yesterday’s dreams

i want solitude

but human connection

that need, eventually gives way

weakness for sport

tense nerves combining

chill seeping into warmth

i want sleep

no longer the ability to think

but rather categorize

random tidbits

slough off today, yesterday, tomorrow

and instead let sink

restless activity

life’s phases at the brink

This poem was meant for Friday, but my Internet wasn’t being cooperative. So here’s yesterday’s post with another one to come.
